Joe has more than 20 years experience in business and technology management. He heads up our international efforts and is often seen in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan (working with some of our really large electronics manufacturer clients).

Prior to helping found X2 (which of course was the best decision of his life), Joe lead IT during the rise and fall of Herring Communications, helping assimilate and then spin off assets such as StockMaster, while operating a team handling pre-press, website and office automation in a nationally distributed organization.  Joe certainly learned how to run a distributed team as well as how to get things done on time, on budget and on spec.

Joe also headed IT for Skywalker Sound where he lead the charge to bring them kicking and screaming into the 20th century.  Maybe his background as a rock star (we’re not kidding! ) helped with the empathy needed to roll out digital editing and storage systems.

Founding the helpdesk at Industrial Light and Magic was a key organization task that really helped Joe get a great grasp on what it takes to run a special effects/film production firm, manage lots of personalities, work internationally and keep people productive.

He has held management positions with Cox Communications, Bozell Worldwide Advertising and the band Rhapsody (had to get that in!).

Joe has a BA from California State University, Fullerton and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Try him in Nihongo (Japanese) or ask him about his Shochu (Japanese sweet potato wine) bottle photo collection which is second to none!
